Never tried M$ Office, but had a success with some complicated software (Counter-Strike with some networking issues, WarCraft3...) Make sure you read the wine user's guide and faq. There's also this linux-winetools port. I haven't tested it a lot, but it might be able to facilitate your wine experience. As for full hardware emulation - I tried qemu and bochs on FreeBSD5.4/i386. Both work flawlessly and quite fast, unlike the much troublesome vmware ports. Andrew P.
