I would like one with the ability to add a reasonable (1GB) amount of cache using standard, easy to acquire memory. Multiple, identical controllers is not out of the question. Total capacity target is from .75 to 1.5 TB. What hardware RAID controllers have the best reliability on FreeBSD? What would you recommend?
