This weekend I set up another box, this time with FreeBSD 4.1.1. After compiling and installing XFree86 4.0.1 on this box, I get the following error when I run "XFree86 -configure:" -------------- hrothgar# /usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86 -configure XFree86 Version 4.0.1 / X Window System (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6400) Release Date: 1 July 2000 If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is newer than the above date, look for a newer version before reporting problems. This can be found in the log file "/var/log/XFree86.0.log". hrothgar# ----------------- This box uses EXACTLY the same hardware as my FreeBSD 4.0.1 box (including 3dfx Voodoo 2 3000 PCI video card). Any ideas as to what the problem might be? TIA -- "Windows has detected that your mouse has moved. Windows must be restarted in order for this change to take effect."
