I wrote (about 1-2 months ago) that I want to have the latest SA's listed on the mainpage anyways, not only as a news item, for even those reasons. So I fully second this. However, that would require a much shorter timespan between the actual exploit/fix and the SA itself. If the security-officer team needs more help to accomplish this, I'm sure people (including me) are willing to volunteer.
