Perhaps you didn't know but the linux bt848 driver originally only worked
in PAL so if you like you can take a look at it for the correct calculations
for PAL or at least between the datasheets and the bttv driver I think that you
have all what is needed to implement PAL support.

I can't help you guys right now because I am slaving away with work 
related stuff .
