I have been trying to get rid of windows on my Toshiba 320 CDT laptop, in the hope of getting FreeBSD to work instead. There is a problem I'm having with my network card, the Xircom CEM33, (CIS dump included below). My pccard.conf looks as follows: card "Xircom" "CreditCard Ethernet+Modem 33.6" "CEM33" "1.00" config 0x24 "xe" ? insert /etc/pccard_ether $device remove /sbin/ifconfig $device delete In /etc/rc.conf I have pccard_ifconfig="DHCP". Unfortunately, even though the card is detected and the device xe0 is allocated, it refuses to get an ip address through DHCP. (Note: I tested this same config, DHCP + card in windows, and that worked fine). If I give it an address manually I still don't get it to send packets to my gateway. My messages looks like this: Oct 28 10:33:36 pccardd[53]: Card "Xircom"("CreditCard Ethernet+Modem 33.6") [C EM33] [1.00] matched "Xircom" ("CreditCard Ethernet+Modem 33.6") [CEM33] [1.00] Oct 28 10:33:41 /kernel: xe0 at port 0x2e8-0x2ef iomem 0xd0000-0xd0fff irq 3 sl ot 0 on pccard0 Oct 28 10:33:41 /kernel: xe0: Xircom CEM33, bonding version 0, with modem Oct 28 10:33:41 /kernel: xe0: CE2 version = 0 Oct 28 10:33:41 /kernel: xe0: Ethernet address 00:80:c7:2a:38:e4 Oct 28 10:33:41 pccardd[53]: xe0: Xircom (CreditCard Ethernet+Modem 33.6) inser ted. Does anybody have any clue as to what I might be doing wrong? Another question, is it possible use both the modem and the ethernet card at the same time, i.e. have both xe0 and sio4 added at the same time? (this is a newbie question, I know :-).
