This definitely has a two-fold effect: 1. SCO gets more money and weight behind their fight against IBM 2. Microsoft uses this as weight against their fight against Linux Microsoft has always said that the GPL is viral and has potential effects on companies who use Linux (and other GPL'd software)... this is just another bit that they can carry in their arsenal. Hopefully, Microsoft doesn't blindly use the term "Open Source" to just mean GPL and Linux as that could also harm the BSD portion of Open Source. That's just my take. --=20 Linh Pham question+advocacy@closedsrc.org Webmaster and FreeBSD Geek http://closedsrc.org Apprentice Manager Editor and Writer http://www.daemonnews.org Courage: The things I do for love | And So Western Civilization Crumbles --AqsLC8rIMeq19msA Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQE+yRW7whofDeWkDMIRAtRPAJ0ane9Pfv+Dn2qMWCTRcKQH9N+EAQCePnxB d3FWKgESuOp4SreY/gRUbGM= =B+7i -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --AqsLC8rIMeq19msA--
