I used the GENERIC configuration as a starting point and added what I needed and commented out what I didn't want. I was able to issue the command /usr/sbin/config -g "newkernel" fine but when I go to build the kernel with the make depend or just make I get a stop error. The error indicates that there's unterminited string or something to the effect and gives me this "#IF" for the problem. I've gone through my kernel config and can not see anything. I'm not very good at this I should also say. I'm using Freebsd 4.2-Current. This is my first custom kernel. I've attached the file for your viewing and hopefully you can see my problem. I included the options IPFIREWALL_DEFAULT_TO_ACCEPT for now to get the machine up and running. I'll change this to DENY once I"m done and recompile the kernel.
