Have you read the Handbook at http://www.freebsd.org/ ? You need to have an empty partition (maybe PartitionMagic can help you out moving around and resizing your Windows-partitions to get unused space on your hdd.) You can not install FreeBSD within a Windows par- tition. After that, create the boot floppies, and then boot your computer using those floppies. After that you're ready to go! Installation can be a bit tricky at first, but soon you'll get the hang of it. I've done about 30 installations and think it's a fairly simple procedure now. The first installation was though a challenge. :-) A tip is to boot Windows, examine your hardware and write down all settings, as this can save you a lot of trouble. And once more, if you get stuck, the Handbook is what it's called, and you will get a lot of help from it. But if you've tried almost everything, and still are stucked, then just mail your problem to this list. Good luck!
