I installed FreeBSD 3.0-971225-SNAP, and when it boots, I get (from dmesg): wdc1 at 0x170-0x177 irq 15 on isa wdc1: unit 0 (atapi): , removable, accel, dma, iordis So it is definately seeing it, but it doesn't seem to be correctly setting up the /dev/wcd* and /dev/rwcd* entries.
