That would be nice to know. For enlightenment. You also failed to notice that Sun allows free downloads only for non-commercial use... Should we say you've lost sight of what motivates commercial software companies? A leading DB like Oracle - if ported to BSD platform - has a huge potential to bring wide corporate acceptance to the OS, as well as FUNDS - to the project AND people behind it. That's for enlightenment. Begging is not in my arsenal of conduct, period. And I am not looking for help in helping to make YOUR project successful and YOUR ass (not a rat's one) happier. But, of course, you failed to grasp it too. Oh, one more thing, Ted, in case you failed to notice - you are a total jerk. Please feel free not to waste your time replying and do NOT send out messages marked "on Behalf Of Victor Kane". I'll sue your ass for that, mr. Enlightenment. vk. -----Original Message----- From: Ted Mittelstaedt [mailto:tedm@toybox.placo.com] Sent: Saturday, September 08, 2001 2:25 PM To: vk@vkci.com; freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG; inquiries@windriver.com; support@windriver.com Subject: RE: Oracle! >-----Original Message----- >From: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG >[mailto:owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG]On Behalf Of Victor Kane >Sent: Saturday, September 08, 2001 8:06 AM >To: freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG; inquiries@windriver.com; >support@windriver.com >Subject: Oracle! > > > Guys, it's a shame to see FreeBSD where it is vs. where it >should and could be. I think you've lost sight of what motivates commercial software companies like Oracle. Please don't beg us to help you convince Oracle to port to FreeBSD unless you've already been talking to Oracle about it.
