A medium error means the disk surface has bad sectors. When you read or write those areas, the error will come up. If the sectors are marginal, you will get the error some of the time. You might want to check to see that auto read/write relocation is turned on for the drive. If turned on, the drive may be able to relocated the sectors automatically. If already turned on, the drive has tried and failed to relocated the sectors, and you need to reformat your drive with bad114. Tom
