Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed Mime-Version: 1.0 (Apple Message framework v482) From: Mark Edwards To: freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit In-Reply-To: <20020614213534.GE64898@dan.emsphone.com> Message-Id: <9DCD0BFE-89A1-11D6-811A-000A278CC960@antsclimbtree.com> X-Mailer: Apple Mail (2.482) Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG I'm running DNS as primary for several domains and secondard for several domains, and I'm seeing a dozen or so log entries per day like the following: Jun 26 05:52:01 lilbuddy named[2378]: denied query from [17.254.0.151].32779 for "ns1.mrtoads.com" IN Jun 26 05:52:01 lilbuddy named[2378]: denied query from [17.254.0.151].32779 for "mrtoads.com" IN Jun 26 06:06:56 lilbuddy named[2378]: denied query from [209.244.5.12].53 for "zmrzlina.com" ANY zmrzlina.com is a domain that I am primary DNS for, and mrtoads.com is a domain that I am secondary DNS for. This doesn't appear to correspond to any real loss of service for anyone, but I'm curious what the meaning of these entries is? I have transfers and queries turned off for everyone but those who need it. Could that have something to do with it? Thanks. -- Mark Edwards San Francisco, CA To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
