Bad144 might be able to work for a week or two, but its not a very good solution. If you at all care about what is on the disk, this is the point where you should either claim its warranty if it has one, or else buy a new disk. Disks which have run out of spare sectors are already bad, and many more bad sectors will generally develop quickly.
