I would (definately) remove the restriction. He says its in the public domain, which lets you do absolutely anything with it. He says you may incorporate it into your own software. He says you may distribute unmodified copies. I can't find anywhere that he makes any kind of restriction on distribution at all, actually... However, you can always email him and ask... djb@pobox.com. I can verify that he answers mail, although I can't say I was left with any particularly warm fuzzy feelings inside after having to ask for permission to build a qmail binary package.
