For M$ > SQL - yes. You can also check MyODBC in the MySQL site. It is a nice ODBC interface to MySQL Databases. With this you can work your ASP's in ODBC(I'm pretty sure they can use ODBC) in the front and in the back you have a realiable MySQL UNIX server.
