It has left me up you-know-what creek without a paddle too many times. Of course I should have made backups. I used a tool called ntfsresize on a bootable Linux CD, either the RIP (Rescue Is Possible) or SystemRescueCD images (I forget which I ended up using). They are both listed in the ntfsresize FAQ at: http://mlf.linux.rulez.org/mlf/ezaz/ntfsresize.html For me, ntfsresize actually recovered a drive that Partition Magic screwed up. I will never use Partition Magic again. The only thing is you have to resize the ntfs filesystem, then truncate the partition manually, so you need to follow the instructions very carefully in order not to cause further problems. There's a graphical tool called qtparted that handles this for you; it's part of SystemRescueCD and is recommended. -- Danny
