You need to study a UNIX-like operating system for which the source code is
available. Examples include FreeBSD (www.freebsd.org), NetBSD
(www.netbsd.org), OpenBSD (www.openbsd.org), the various Linux
distributions, Sprite (a distributed OS offshoot of BSD), Plan9 from AT&T,
and VSTa. The best choice is one with which your lecturers are most
familiar.
