Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hello, I'm currently seeking for a feasible replacement for FTP (with regard to GUI loving Winusers...) and stumbled across the following in the 4.2 RELEASE notes: "OpenSSH has been upgraded to 2.2.0. ssh-add(1) and ssh-agent(1) can now handle DSA keys. An sftp server interoperable with ssh.com clients and others has been added. scp(1) can now handle files >2GB. Interoperability with other ssh2 clients/servers has been improved. A new feature to limit the number of outstanding unauthenticated ssh connections in sshd has been added." Now I can't seem able to find sftp except for some source in the source tree. The OpenSSH homepage man pages mention it, while the FreeBSD ones don't. So I began to wonder whether I got the correct version on my boxes and did the following (I'm tracking stable quite frequently): root@epsilon 14:22:14 /usr/src/sys/i386/conf $ uname -a FreeBSD epsilon.root.li 4.2-STABLE FreeBSD 4.2-STABLE #0: Sun Jan 21 17:18:28 CET 2001 root@epsilon.root.li:/foreignhome/obj/usr/src/sys/ffnonwpboxes i386 So 4.2 STABLE actually IS installed and a pretty recent one after all. However, the following doesn't look quite as good: root@epsilon 14:23:45 /usr/src/sys/i386/conf $ sshd -V sshd: option requires an argument -- V sshd version OpenSSH-2.1 So what's wrong here? According to the release informations, I should have OpenSSH 2.2.0 on 4.2 STABLE, right?
