(Being tired of updating and merging them every time a new FreeBSD release comes out...) The patches can be found in kern/15436, and it would be really great if they could be committed to -current before the feature freeze. There is no risk, because they completely depend on a single kernel option (SC_PROPELLERS) -- without this option, none of the new code gets compiled into the kernel. The attached patches implement an extension to syscons called "propellers" (activity indicators), along with a status line. It is very useful and convenient if you have to work without X for some reason. So far, everybody who has used these patches for an hour or two didn't want to miss them anymore. :-) Details can be found in the PR.
