What pitfalls are there? > > You have to adjust your /etc/fstab to reflect the change, if you don't, you will get a nasty looking error when booting (which can be worked out, I just don't remember if you have to tell you kernel on the boot console where your root is or if you drop into single user mode and then have to "mount -o rw -u" your / to edit the fstab or both ;).
