The 1400 currently runs 4.6-RC but we have had a similar problem with 4.3-RELEASE & 4.5-RELEASE, although the problem has definitely got a lot worse since upgrading to 4.6-RC. Perhaps someone can make sense of the following crash dump info. Cheers, Mark Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode fault virtual address = 0x50 fault code = supervisor read, page not present instruction pointer = 0x8:0xc024100b stack pointer = 0x10:0xe221ada0 frame pointer = 0x10:0xe221ae08 code segment = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1 processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0 current process = 30885 (smbd) interrupt mask = trap number = 12 panic: page fault #0 dumpsys () at /usr/src/sys/kern/kern_shutdown.c:487 #1 0xc01e536b in boot (howto=256) at /usr/src/sys/kern/kern_shutdown.c:316 #2 0xc01e5790 in poweroff_wait (junk=0xc03965cc, howto=-1069981457) at /usr/src/sys/kern/kern_shutdown.c:595 #3 0xc032d106 in trap_fatal (frame=0xe221ad60, eva=80) at /usr/src/sys/i386/i386/trap.c:966 #4 0xc032cdd9 in trap_pfault (frame=0xe221ad60, usermode=0, eva=80) at /usr/src/sys/i386/i386/trap.c:859 #5 0xc032c9c3 in trap (frame={tf_fs = 16, tf_es = -1039859696, tf_ds = -1039335408, tf_edi = 0, tf_esi = 242094252, tf_ebp = -501109240, tf_isp = -501109364, tf_ebx = 0, tf_edx = 65535, tf_ecx = -568395972, tf_eax = 0, tf_trapno = 12, tf_err = 0, tf_eip = -1071378421, tf_cs = 8, tf_eflags = 66054, tf_esp = -568395840, tf_ss = 0}) at /usr/src/sys/i386/i386/trap.c:458 #6 0xc024100b in tcp_output (tp=0xde1ef7c0) at /usr/src/sys/netinet/tcp_output.c:942 #7 0xc0243d70 in tcp_usr_send (so=0xddd67c00, flags=0, m=0xc20ad300, nam=0x0, control=0x0, p=0xe1521040) at /usr/src/sys/netinet/tcp_usrreq.c:580 #8 0xc0203a2f in sosend (so=0xddd67c00, addr=0x0, uio=0xe221aecc, top=0xc20ad300, control=0x0, flags=0, p=0xe1521040) at /usr/src/sys/kern/uipc_socket.c:609 #9 0xc0206dbb in sendit (p=0xe1521040, s=5, mp=0xe221af0c, flags=0) at /usr/src/sys/kern/uipc_syscalls.c:583 #10 0xc0206ebe in sendto (p=0xe1521040, uap=0xe221af80) at /usr/src/sys/kern/uipc_syscalls.c:636 #11 0xc032d3b5 in syscall2 (frame={tf_fs = -1070464977, tf_es = 47, tf_ds = 47, tf_edi = 135671809, tf_esi = 53, tf_ebp = -1077937296, tf_isp = -501108780, tf_ebx = 673061220, tf_edx = 135671809, tf_ecx = 135671809, tf_eax = 133, tf_trapno = 7, tf_err = 2, tf_eip = 672747828, tf_cs = 31, tf_eflags = 663, tf_esp = -1077937356, tf_ss = 47}) at /usr/src/sys/i386/i386/trap.c:1167 #12 0xc03217f5 in Xint0x80_syscall () #13 0x80d3af4 in ??
