1) Don't 'reply' to someone else's question with another question,
   send a brand new email to questions@freebsd.org.  If you don't it
   looks like you're responding to someone else's question and it
   reduces the chance someone will answer you.

2) Did you actually install the kernel you built?  "make install"?
   what are the exact steps you took to make the kernel?

3) Did you reboot after making a new kernel _and_ installing it?
