I had to copy the mwavedd.ko file into /modules and add it to /boot/loader.conf (the machine wouldn't boot with mwave loading from /usr/local/etc/rc.d.) So everything looks fine during boot now (I see the mwave device and serial ports at least), but I can't get any response from the modem using "cu -l cuaa*" or "tip com*" (with different numbers for the "*"). I even tried ghost-typing ATE1 just in case. One other datapoint (besides dmesg out, below) is that when I load mwave, I can't use my PC card ethernet adaptor - it comes up on the same interrupt. Needless to say, I did try mwave with no cards inserted in the machine. Anyway, any help will be appreciated. Thanks! Steve K. U.F.O. - "For the feeler gauge in you."
