I'm hoping someone will be able to shed a bit of light on the problem. Unfortunately all the info I have right now is: ---- Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode fault virtual address = 0x14 fault code = supervisor write, page not present instruction pointer = 0x8:0xc0166429 stack pointer = 0x10:0xd60359cc frame pointer = 0x10:0xd6035a00 code segment = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1 processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0 current process = 27 (syncer) trap number = 12 syncing disks, buffers remaining... panic: free locked buf ---- I've now recompiled my kernel with -g, and setup a dumpdev so I'll get a dump next time round. If it's of significance I'm running vinum to mirror my /, /usr, and swap partitions. Thanks for any help you can give, Tim. -- Tim Bishop http://www.bishnet.net/tim PGP Key: 0x5AE7D984
