If you don't want to use my Makefile, then here's info how to build 
vim-gtk2.

$ cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.vim.sf.net:/cvsroot/vim checkout vim
$ cd vim
$ patch -p < /path/to/vim-gtk2.patch
goes on.. by check in src/INSTALL and ./configure --help.. Also, check 
http://www.opensky.ca/gnome-vim/todo.html ..
