B ----- Original Message ----- From: Gernot Hueber To: Sent: Monday, March 26, 2001 2:52 AM Subject: pppoe, netgraph problem First of all, I am a very FBSD/PPPoE newbie. I've run into serious pppoe problems: Using 4.2 I've compiled a new kernel and setup ppp.conf according to the handbook. My first fatal mistake was not to ifconfig the pppoe device, but I don't have the server at hand to test solutions at the moment or to provide full config/log files (sorry for that) For testing I tried 'ppp mypppoe' which claimed a set default error - I guess this error comes from the missing ifconfig xlo0. Then I wantet to test the connection and entered 'dial': There was an error message with netgraph already loaded - unable to load netgraph.(This issue has been discussed in the mailing list yet) But my serious problem is: After the error message the machine rebooted!!!! Something like kernel panic: 10 secs to reboot. The /var/log/message didn't show any helpful information. Is it possible the missing ifconfig of my pppoe device causes this reboot, nevertheless it should not. TIA Gernot -- Dipl.-Ing.
