Sorry if this is a FAQ, but I couldn't find any details after a bit of searching. Two issues come to my inexperienced mind. There is the trouble of booting the kernel. GRUB can grok ext2 so I could use that (or at least, I could probably hack GRUB till it can boot FreeBSD again). But before that there is probably going to be a problem building the kernel.
