I just wanted to share how I got it to compile. I unfortunately do not know how to submit a fix so that it's corrected in the future, nor the best way to go about it. However, I would like to share how I got it to build and install: cd /usr/ports/multimedia/mplayer make install ---Failed to obtain win32-codecs Went to ftp://ftp3.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/codecs/ Downloaded win32codecs-20040703.tar.bz2, qt6dlls-20040626.tar.bz2, qtextras-20040704.tar.bz2, rp9codecs-20040626.tar.bz2, and xanimdlls-20040626.tar.bz2 to /usr/ports/distfiles/win32 Extracted all 5 Renamed the folders to their names sans the dates. So now I have 5 folders inside /usr/ports/distfiles/win32: win32codecs, qt6dlls, qtextras, rp9codecs, and xanimdlls Now I recompressed all 5 into .tar.bz2 files. I now removed the folders and the old tar.bz2's from the folder. I now have 5 tar.bz2's in this folder: win32codecs.tar.bz2, qt6dlls.tar.bz2, qtextras.tar.bz2, rp9codecs.tar.bz2, and xanimdlls.tar.bz2 cd /usr/ports/multimedia/mplayer make install NO_CHECKSUM=yes ln -s /usr/ports/multimedia/mplayer/work/MPlayer-0.92.1/mplayer /usr/bin/mplayer And I am now able to use mplayer / win32-codecs like any other application. I hope this helps some people. If not, my apologies.
