I am running Freebsd on a Pentium 90 and have an NE2000 compatible ethernet card configured as ed0. I have the following equipment connect via Assant 8 port hub: Portmaster (10.0.0.2) Mac1 (10.0.0.3) Mac2 (10.0.0.4) pc1 (10.0.0.5) I have decided to use 10.0.0.1 as the host address for the time being. I added the folowing lines for network interfaces in the sysconfig ifconfig ed0 inet link2 10.0.0.2 netmask 0xffffff00 ifconfig ed0 inet link2 10.0.0.3 netmask 0xffffff00 ifconfig ed0 inet link2 10.0.0.4 netmask 0xffffff00 ifconfig ed0 inet link2 10.0.0.5 netmask 0xffffff00 when I reboot the system it says that 10.0.0.2 has an IP conflict with that physical address. and just hangs untill i hit ctr C. It then stops trying. any help would be greatly appreciated. Scott Mager scott@agency.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- Scott B.
