I think the first sentence is not true. The RT-11 XM monitor uses the MMU hardware intensively even before Unix came to utilize it. I'm not talking about RSX-11, RSTS-E and Sherrard's TSX-Plus which were native real multiuser's muliprocessors OS's for PDP-11. Igor.
