I'm in favour of mailing lists, too, but your claims aren't correct. The mailman archives don't provide a search engine at all, forums usually provide a search engine. Often mailman archives are mirrored by nabble and gmane, but their search engines don't work well. However, startpage/google searches work very well, including mailing lists and forums, it's just useful to know how the search engine has to be used. Unfortunately duckduckgo and other search engines can't compare to startpage/google, this is important to know. Startpage/google often works better than searching folders with received mails by a MUA, unless we didn't use tags for important mails. >Besides, mailing lists work even without a graphical interface on the >user's end. Forums do so as well, we are usually just not used to terminal browsers. Blind users using braille usually are used to those terminal browsers. Regards, Ralf
