To: freebsd-hackers@FreeBSD.ORG Date: Wed, 31 May 95 22:18:12 EDT X-Mailer: ELM [version 2.3 PL11] Sender: hackers-owner@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk Has something changed with the ed0 driver using the SMC Elite 16C Ultra combo card?? I get "device timeouts" when I try to use the thing with the BNC port. Do I need some ifconfig option now?? It seems to be probed fine. I will check to make sure the irq is correct, but it has worked fine for the last few releases.. I had the lockup problem at the "Creating /etc/fstab" message when installing on a different machine. (I didn't assign a mount point for dos...) I put in an old 8 bit WD8003 and at least the ethernet worked. I will try the new disks tomorrow on a dell 75MHz pentium with 1 gig IDE, and a 90MHz Pentium with NCR scsi and 1.7 gig scsi drive. Also, I could't mount the zip disks I had working with 950322 snapshot. It complained about a bad superblock or something. I may have done something wrong when I made the disks... I will investigate this further when I get the system running. Fred.
