I have one of these also. The Zoom V.FC uses a pretty bogus 16550 emulator UART that the serial i/o probe in FreeBSD doesn't recognize by default. I have a patch for the kernel sio.c source file for 2.0-R; I don't know if these changes were incorporated into 2.0.5 or 2.1. Basically, the patch just adds a bunch of printfs to slow down the probe enough that the bonehead UARTS have time to respond correctly.
