I'm running 4.2 RELEASE, sound card is an ESS 1868 which runs fine under Win98. I compiled support into the kernel and built the snd0 device but not the snd1 device because the card refused to work when I tried that. Another problem I've been having is with XMMS - gdkprivate.h has #include statements for Xlib.h but Xlib.h is nowhere to be found, and XMMS will not compile without it.
