Yesterday I brought it to the latest 2.2.8-stable (cvsup). Afterwards I've tried to write some CDRs (media: Kodak CD-R) with no success: Each time I got the following: [...] :: Waiting for reader process to fill input-buffer ... input-buffer ready. :: Starting new track at sector: 0 :: cdrecord: Input/output error. write_g1: scsi sendcmd: retryable error :: CDB: 2A 00 00 00 01 86 00 00 1E 00 :: status: 0x0 (GOOD STATUS) :: resid: 61440 :: cmd finished after 0.001s timeout 40s :: :: write track data: error after 798720 bytes :: Sense Bytes: 70 00 00 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 :: cdrecord: Input/output error. flush cache: scsi sendcmd: retryable error :: CDB: 35 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 :: status: 0x0 (GOOD STATUS) :: cmd finished after 4.398s timeout 120s :: Trouble flushing the cache :: Writing time: 18.989s :: Fixating... :: cdrecord: Input/output error. close track/session: scsi sendcmd: retryable error :: CDB: 5B 00 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 :: status: 0x0 (GOOD STATUS) :: cmd finished after 0.005s timeout 480s :: Fixating time: 0.006s :: cdrecord: fifo had 81 puts and 14 gets. :: cdrecord: fifo was 0 times empty and 9 times full, min fill was 97%. I suppose that these are some kind of real errors on the media? The CDRs were all from the same bunch of 100. Happily I found some left over CDRs (same brand) from our last burning session and tried a few of them. Interestingly enough I was able to burn them without a hitch. Aftwerwards I gave another few from the fresh bunch a try, to no success. (exactly the same error, again) Any hints? Should I just "slap the just bought media into the distributor's face" ? ;) Thanks in advance, Andreas -- /// TSE TeleService GmbH | Gsf: Arne Reuter | /// Hovestrasse 14 | Andreas Braukmann | We do it with /// D-48351 Everswinkel | HRB: 1430, AG WAF | FreeBSD/SMP /// ------------------------------------------------------------------- /// PGP-Key: http://www.tse-online.de/~ab/public-key /// Key fingerprint: 12 13 EF BC 22 DD F4 B6 3C 25 C9 06 DC D3 45 9B To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-scsi" in the body of the message
