I've checked the setup for the to nics carefully. The machine is set up as a gateway and everything there seems correct. Default gateway show up correctly in netstat -r output. Firewall defaults to accept any to any (for now anyway). Sounds like you've "options IPFILTER" in your kernel config but no filter rules loaded.
