Another question that came up at my first look at FreeBSD is about an MTA. Do I need a running sendmail or whatever if all I want to receive are the local emails that e.g. cron sends? If so - what's the easiest way to make sendmail listen on localhost only or no port at all so that there's no port open to the outside world.
