I have modified the files in /etc and ppp directories and setup my ppp.conf file. I can dial out okay, but the connection is dropped with the message : Warning : DialModem : Login failed. Is this something to do with my login name and password or is it something else? Also, when I start ppp, does it need a password in my ppp.secret file? If any of you have tried to hook up to providers like AT&T, I would like to request your help. I am trying to hook up to At&T worldnet using FreeBSD. I have modified the files in /etc and ppp directories
and setup my ppp.conf file. I can dial out okay, but the connection is dropped with the message :

Warning : DialModem : Login failed.

Is this something to do with my login name and password or is it something else?

Also, when I start ppp, does it need a password in my ppp.secret file?

If any of you have tried to hook up to providers like AT&T, I would like to request your help.

Thanks,
Srinivasan.
