So im told that the easiest way, rather than to run fdsik,disklabel,then newfs, is to use sysinstall and go into the fdisk editor, I do that which establishes my partitions, then i hit w to write the changes, then i can into the label editor, tell it where i want each partition mounted, just like the original install, I hit w and it core dumps on creating initial devices.
