As long as PERL_VERSION?=3D  5.8.9 that ain't really an option. Making
perl 5.10 the default will require some full -exp builds on PointyHat.

Well, tweaking this:

 USE_PERL5_REASON?=3D      requires Perl ${want_perl_ver} or later, install=
 lang/perl5.8 or lang/perl5.10 and try again
 IGNORE=3D ${USE_PERL5_REASON}

based on ${want_perl_minor} should be enough until perl6
