You can probably get away with 1m but that is about it. This is incorrect if using u2 LVD devices, ASUS claims 15 devices on a 12m cable, 25m for 2 devices point-to-point. Go with the P2B-LS, put your LVD drives on the u2bus, wide drives on the wide bus, and narrow drives on the narrow bus.
