There are bugs in both the .au and .wav importers which mean the limited subset is even smaller than intended. I can add patches to make the port work, but would actually prefer to axe the port altogether. We have other ports that do the same job with a wider range of file types - eg 'play' included in /ports/audio/sox and ports/audio/wavplay. Would anybody object to removing this port?
