Be careful with the Adaptec gear, it looks like they've been changing the hardware to a newer NIC chip that the de driver doesn't like. If possible see if you can spec one with the 21140 chipset, not the 21143. We have quad-port Adaptecs here in the lab and they all work fine; they're all 21140-AE based.
