This is my first experience of FreeBSD on a laptop so I'm not quite sure where to look. I have first tried with a USB ethernet adapter but this did not work (ugen reported 'AboCom adapter' plugged, but none of the USB nic drivers recognized it). This was a Trendnet TU-ET10. Then I got a pcmcia nic (a Trendnet) but it does not work. pccardd reports a "Dual Speed" "10/100 Port Attached PC Card" match (obviously quite a generic id, huh) and fails with "device not configured". The card is supposed to work 'as is' (with the default pcmcia daemon) on Linux, at least that's stated in the doc. I guess I must modify the default entry for this name to match the actual card, but how can I find the right driver? Is there some config info I can get from another OS (there is Win2k on that machine, much to my horror, but the person owning this laptop needed networking)?
