Bresler" Subject: mailling list speed up To: hackers@freebsd.org Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: hackers-owner@freebsd.org Precedence: bulk i have just changed hackers to use bulk_mailer. bulk_mailer will sort the subscribers of hackers and send the message to groups of 20 hosts. if there are more than one subscriber at a single host, all of those subscribers will be included in the same mail envelope. each envelope will be processed by a separate sendmail. we should see a significant speed up in delivery. i have added myself as the last addressee on each envelope. i will be able to measure how long it takes to process all the addresses in hackers (assuming that sendmail does each address in the qf file in order, not skipping on if an address times out. can someone confirm this??) jmb Jonathan M.
