Ok, the bt848 driver in 2.2.8 is really really outdated now. It does not support bt878 chips and Hauppauge switched to bt878s around May 1998. Anyway, I've updated my FTP/WEB Site with a 2.2.8 friendly version of the driver. Have a look at http://telepresence.dmem.strath.ac.uk/bt848 It has links into my FTP site for the 2.2.8 friendly driver and also the 2.2.5/2.2.6/2.2.7 driver.
