 I believe that I had to add the NoDDC option to my Device section for the
 815 card .. it may work for you, too.
 
 Section "Device"
     Identifier  "Intel i815"
     VendorName  "Intel"
     Driver      "i810"
     VideoRam    8192
     Option      "NoDDC"
 EndSection
 
 I also had to set my colour depth to 16 bit rather than 24 bit.
