To use the bundled SCSi card, UDS-IS11, assure that the J1 jumper is > set to PNR.  Ok.. now jumper 1... It can be in PNR or PNP mode. In both cases, the GENERIC kernel doesn't recognize it, and the pnpinfo command doesn't see it. It's interesting that they call it the UDS-IS11. Is this the chip name or what? > There is no driver needed for the card in this mode.  I guess that means "no driver to use the scanner in this mode", but I surely need a driver if I want to plug more than one device on the SCSI chain!!! > PNP mode is not supported by UMAX. All you have to do is > install the card and hook up the scanner.  Once the hardware are all > in place, install the scanner software as instructed in the literature > that came with scanner. Hum. I don't have the literature, nor the software, and anyways, it would be for winblows. At least they answered my mail! :)) I'm going to make a reply to them, and we'll see... Here is my original mail... >
