I just ran into this with adaptec. Yea I have the drivers but I am not allowed to migrate even for testing until the monitoring code (for raid arrays) has been ported by adaptec. Their stance is "you have 4.x, we are not going to waste time on a low profile moving target" So.. remember dumb managers are listening. Think "Evil Doers" level.
